The vision for Youth Igniting Change is to grow an alliance of youth activists and changemakers. Our partnerships and collaborations are at the heart of our work. Our alliance expands beyond just the members of Youth Igniting Change, and includes the individuals within the organizations we’re fortunate to support and contribute to. We stand with and proudly support the following organizations that are making a positive difference in our communities, country and for our world:
ME to WE is a family of social enterprise organizations that makes ‘doing good doable’. Through their many world wide initiatives, they empower people to change the world locally and globally, achieving transformative outcomes for themselves and others.
Affected Generation is a youth led organization whose mission is to 1) have accurate climate impact education being taught in schools, 2) secure a carbon cap and trade legislation to stop Oregon’s polluters, and 3) move towards renewable energy.
Renew Oregon is a clean energy advocacy coalition of businesses, organizations and individuals coming together to move the state of Oregon away from polluting energy, to creating a clean energy economy, and to protect our air and water from pollution.
New Avenues for Youth is dedicated to the prevention and intervention of youth homelessness. Since 1997, their programs have impacted more than 20,000 youth as they work to overcome barriers, pursue their goals, and realize their potential.
Operation Nightwatch has been offering friendship and hospitality to Portland’s unhoused community since 1981. Each guest is welcomed, just as they are, and no one is required to conform to any particular faith practice in order to receive services.
